Pasteurising & conditioning

During pasteurising the compost is kept at a temperature of 56 degrees centigrade for 8 hours, which kills the undesirable organisms. This is followed by the conditioning phase, in which the compost is kept at a constant temperature of 45 degrees centigrade so as to grow the organisms which subsequently convert the ammonia into nitrogen. This produces a rich nutrition that is ideal for inoculation of mycelium.
